Mary Aldrich

Mary Aldrich is a Texas-based ceramic artist who hasalways worked with her hands and found beauty in a simple undulating line. Her ideas take shape on paper. A pencil line that curves around the page defining and then giving volume to her idea. From there, it is the touch of her hand against the coil of clay that translates the flat drawing into a sculpted form.

Mary's current work deals with the small beginnings of life. Whether it is a ripe seed pod releasing its seeds into the wind, a bud beginning to blossom or single cell beginning to divide, they all allude to a generation to come.
