 THE UNFINISHED ALBUM

The Unfinished Album is an exhibition based on the photobook of the same name by Ana María Caula, a finalist for the Felifa Prize 2025. Drawing from her father Tito Caula’s photographic archive—images of Argentina and Venezuela taken from the 1950s to the 1970s—the daughter reconstructs fragments of life through memory and research. Rather than using a camera, she relies on tenderness and persistence, guided by the gaze of a curious child who collects, connects, and narrates. The result is a story that traces the social, aesthetic, and emotional journeys of two countries.

Curated by Venezuelan art researcher Johanna Pérez Daza, the exhibition blends photographs, film posters, contact sheets, tango lyrics, book pages, period music, cameras, and interview fragments to evoke an analog Latin America. It is a tribute to the craft of photography and to the photographer’s eye. Tito Caula, who photographed countless actresses and models in his studio, lived at home surrounded by women: his wife, mother-in-law, and four daughters. The Unfinished Album reveals the artist in motion—his craft, his intimacy—and from there, the man and the father.

As part of the experience, visitors will be invited to pose in a recreated studio set, re-enacting portraits in a contemporary style—a playful homage to Tito’s legacy and the enduring ritual of being photographed.

The exhibition explores the fragility of memory and the strength of love between father and daughter. It affirms the value of Tito Caula’s archive, an artistic legacy that deserves continued exploration.

NIZIE FLOR DE AGUA

In this exhibition, Luvia Lazo invites us to see, through her eyes and lens, the deep soul of Oaxaca. Her photographs are visual poetry, reflecting the everyday beauty of her land, the strength of her Zapotec roots, and the delicacy with which she observes her people and surroundings. Luvia transforms each moment into a water flower: fragile and transparent, yet powerful in its resonance. Within her images, we discover the essence of a community living between tradition and modernity, as well as the sensitivity of an artist who transforms the intimate into the universal.
