Bernardo Infante OroZco
Born in Mexico City, Bernardo Infante Orozco is an artist, sculptor, and founder whose practice is deeply rooted in the elemental language of fire, metal, and transformation. Despite his studies in Business Administration at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Estado de México, his trajectory has always been guided by a persistent pull toward art and sculpture.
Infante’s formative years were shaped within the environment of an artistic foundry. He is the son of the founder of Fundición Artística NELECO, a distinguished workshop with more than five decades of history in Mexico. Immersed in this setting from an early age, he developed a profound understanding of traditional and contemporary foundry processes, refining his expertise in large-scale bronze and aluminum sculpture through years of hands-on practice.
Throughout his career, Infante has collaborated with an array of established artists, including María Lagunes, Miguel Peraza, Fray Gabriel Chávez de la Mora, Gustavo Aceves, Claire Becker, Guillermo Ceniceros, Carlos Vivar, Edgar Cevallos, and Julissa Casting Inc. (Puerto Rico), among others. These collaborations reflect both the technical rigor of his practice and his commitment to artistic exchange.
Eight years ago, Infante relocated to Houston, Texas, where he founded his own atelier dedicated to sculpture and painting. Alongside his studio practice, he established a workshop focused on education and mentorship, continuing his family’s legacy by cultivating the art of foundry and passing its traditions and innovations on to new generations. His work is guided by the conviction that art communicates where language reaches its limits, allowing material, form, and process to convey meaning beyond words.
